Nollywood enthusiasts will recall that the Netflix original epic ‘Jagun Jagun’ stirred considerable buzz in 2023, earning widespread acclaim.
Riding on the success of that venture, the movie’s producer and actor, Femi Adebayo, has tantalized fans with a hint about his upcoming project, ‘Seven Doors,’ slated for the new year, 2024.
Adebayo shared this revelation during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on New Year’s Day. He described it as one of his significant endeavors for movie enthusiasts to anticipate in the coming year.
Providing a sneak peek into the movie’s plot, he mentioned that filming had concluded, and the project had entered the post-production stage.
“In my upcoming movie, a Yoruba man marries an Igbo woman, and the Igbo community supports the Yoruba husband, who is a core Yoruba king.
They uphold their traditions and everything. That is one of the things you should look out for this year. The title of the film is ‘Seven Doors,’ and it’s going to be big. We are done with filming; I am in the post-production stage,” Adebayo revealed.
He also disclosed plans to shoot the second season of the successful ‘Jagun Jagun,’ providing opportunities for emerging actors to showcase their talents.
Adebayo expressed his excitement about the intentional collaboration between indigenous language actors and their English-speaking counterparts in recent Nollywood productions.
He noted that this trend has significantly contributed to the industry’s growth, bringing diverse tribes together for co-productions and scriptwriting that incorporate various ethnicities.
While acknowledging the positive developments, Adebayo emphasized the need for a more conducive environment for movie producers. He voiced concerns about issues like security challenges on movie sets, highlighting the necessity for improved conditions to enhance the industry’s productivity.
