Federal Govt calls for stakeholders collaboration on access to healthcare

The federal government has appealed for collaborative efforts among stakeholders in the healthcare sector to enhance access to quality healthcare services.

Vice President Kashim Shettima made this appeal during a dinner hosted by the Southern Borno Stakeholders Forum in Abuja to honor Dr. Salma-Anas Ibrahim, the Special Adviser to the President on Health.

Shettima encouraged Nigerians to place their trust in Dr. Anas, expressing confidence in her ability to excel in her role. He praised her commitment, honesty, integrity, and passion for her job. He also highlighted her extensive experience and international exposure in countries like Egypt and Somalia, making her a highly qualified candidate to drive positive change in Borno’s healthcare sector.

In her response, Dr. Anas emphasized President Tinubu’s dedication to improving the health of women and children and called for support to ensure the success of the “Renewed Hope” agenda.

Aminu Magashi, the coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), urged Dr. Anas to use her position to bolster the nation’s health security agenda. He also called on the President to provide funding and implement the action plan for National Health Security and ensure efficient utilization of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund.
