Tech billionaire Elon Musk has revealed the next-generation humanoid robot, Optimus, describing its potential as “limitless.”

The announcement was made at the highly anticipated “We, Robot” event on Thursday night, where Musk also showcased his company’s latest innovations in autonomous vehicles, including the Cybercab Robotaxi and the Robovan.

Musk emphasized that Optimus “can do anything you imagine,” highlighting its ability to handle everyday tasks like walking dogs, babysitting, mowing lawns, and even serving drinks.

“I believe this will be the most significant product ever created,” Musk asserted, suggesting that a future may come when everyone on Earth will desire an “Optimus buddy.”

The concept of the Optimus robot was first introduced by Tesla in 2021, with the aim of creating a versatile machine to undertake tasks considered dangerous, repetitive, or mundane for humans.

The latest model, Optimus Gen 2, boasts enhancements like faster walking speeds, improved hand mobility, and advanced sensors, enabling it to perform more complex tasks, such as folding shirts.
