President Bola Tinubu, in his Eid-El-Fitr address on Wednesday, appealed to Nigerians to hold their country dear above all others, emphasizing that it is their only homeland.
Speaking to journalists after the Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State, President Tinubu highlighted the importance of love for Nigeria, urging citizens to exhibit resilience and sacrifice and extend these values beyond the Ramadan fasting period. He encouraged Muslims celebrating Eid to maintain the spirit of sacrifice and resilience, emphasizing the need for patriotism and love for the nation.
“The resilience and sacrifice we have shown and made during these months should be preserved. We must love our country more than any other country because that is the only one we have,” President Tinubu stated.
During the Eid prayers led by the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, the religious leader echoed the call for peaceful co-existence and urged leaders to uphold their oath of office.
He also extended prayers for the well-being of President Tinubu, the Lagos State government, and the nation as a whole, emphasizing the importance of alleviating the suffering of the less privileged.
