Remedy Yange, an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benue state, has been found dead on a street in Lagos.
A video circulating on social media shows Yange’s motionless body by the roadside with people trying to discover his identification.
His name and place of employment were located on his identity card (ID card), which was placed in a bag beside his body.
The late operator was allegedly on leave from work to spend time with his family in Lagos.
The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the occurrence to TheCable. He stated that “an investigation is ongoing” to determine the reason of Yange’s death.
This is the second alleged death of an EFCC operative in recent months.
On January 19, the agency said that Aminu Salisu, an assistant superintendent officer (ASO), was slain in Anambra.
Salisu was allegedly slain by Joshua Ikechukwu, a suspected online fraudster, during an operation in Anambra state.
Oyewale stated that the late officer was slain while performing a valid duty.
