EFCC arrests individual for issuing death threat against chairman

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Kayode Cole for issuing a death threat against the Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede.

According to EFCC’s Spokesman, Dele Oyewale, Cole was arrested in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The arrest was made following a threat made by Cole through his Instagram handle, “1billionsecretss”, in response to a story posted by Instablog9ja. The story alleged money laundering activities by a religious sect, linking it to terrorism.

In his comment, Cole threatened that the EFCC chairman would be dead in six months.

During interrogation, the suspect claimed he was merely seeking attention.

EFCC stated that Cole would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
