Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of CBN, has been re-arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Following a physical altercation with officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service, operatives of the secret police took Emefiele back into custody.

Dailybrief previously reported that DSS operatives clashed with NCS officials over Emefiele’s custody.

The fight took place outside Nicholas Oweibo’s courtroom at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Earlier, the court had granted Emefiele N20 million bail and one surety in like sum.

The presiding judge, Nicholas Oweibo, ordered that Emefiele be remanded at the correctional facility pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

DSS agents, on the other hand, insisted on taking Emefiele into custody.

On the court grounds, heated arguments and an all-out brawl broke out between personnel from both services.
