The Defence Headquarters has disclosed the identities of the 17 military personnel who lost their lives in an attack in Okuama community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to reports, the military personnel were killed last week following a peace mission in the area.
Among the deceased were the Commanding Officer of 181 Amphibious Battalion, Lt Col AH Ali, two majors – Maj SD Shafa and Maj DE Obi, as well as one captain and 12 personnel of the battalion.
The Defence Headquarters, in a statement, expressed condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and shared the list of the deceased:
