Declare state of emergency in Abuja, FCT PCC tells FG

Dalhatu was speaking on Monday at a press briefing organized to address the insecurity in the FCT.

Amidst the escalating insecurity, kidnappings, and frequent attacks by bandits on Abuja residents, Dalhatu Ezekiel, the Commissioner for Public Complaints in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged the Federal Government to prioritize the region’s security.

In a press briefing on Monday addressing the growing insecurity, Ezekiel also called upon FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to consider suspending ongoing projects, if necessary, to address this critical issue affecting the lives of FCT residents.

Additionally, he proposed the establishment of a civilian joint task force as an alternative strategy to combat insecurity in rural areas.
