The Climate Action Platform for Africa (CAP-A) has appointed Yemi Osinbajo, former vice-president of Nigeria, as the Chair of its board of directors.
CAP-A, an organization focused on unleashing Africa’s potential as a global hub for climate action, announced Osinbajo’s immediate appointment.
James Mwangi, the founder of CAP-A, expressed deep honour in having Prof. Osinbajo join the board.
Mwangi cited his extensive experience and passion as invaluable assets for the organization’s mission.
He highlighted Osinbajo’s commitment to transforming African economies in harmony with climate needs.
In response, Osinbajo emphasized his dedication to driving climate action across Africa alongside CAP-A’s remarkable team.
He said:
“Since the recent founding of CAP-A, I have witnessed their work in shifting the global and continental narrative from Africa being a victim of the climate crisis to holding the key to accelerating global climate action.
Osinbajo acknowledged the organization’s efforts in shifting the narrative from Africa as a climate crisis victim to a leader in accelerating global climate action.
His appointment signals a significant step toward promoting climate-positive growth in Africa and fostering sustainable development on the continent.
