Bobrisky: VeryDarkMan appears before reps over bribery allegations against EFCC

VeryDarkMan accused cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, of paying ₦15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him following his controversial naira-spraying incident in April.

On Monday, blogger Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, appeared before a House of Representatives panel investigating bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Officials from both the EFCC and NCoS were also present as the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions began their inquiry into claims of corruption made by the blogger.

In a viral video, VeryDarkMan accused cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, of paying ₦15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him following his controversial naira-spraying incident in April. The blogger further alleged that Bobrisky bribed officials to receive preferential treatment while serving a six-month prison sentence.

Bobrisky has since denied these accusations, while both the EFCC and NCoS have initiated internal investigations into the claims.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called on the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to launch an independent investigation into the allegations raised by the blogger.
