BBNaija S9: Toyosi hints at separation from Damilola

When Ebuka asked if they planned to continue living together, Damilola quickly responded, “Yeah.” However, Toyosi's response differed: “I love you so much, but I feel like there has been a lot of tension. She has been blaming herself too much, and I want her to think without me being there.”

Big Brother Naija ‘No Loose Guard’ housemate Toyosi has hinted at a separation from Damilola following their eviction from the show on Sunday.

Team Tami, consisting of Toyosi and Damilola, was the first pair to be evicted after spending just a week in the house. The duo had been friends for seven years before entering Big Brother’s house.

In a post-eviction interview with show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toyosi discussed her decision to separate from Damilola. When Ebuka asked if they planned to continue living together, Damilola quickly responded, “Yeah.”

However, Toyosi’s response differed: “I love you so much, but I feel like there has been a lot of tension. She has been blaming herself too much, and I want her to think without me being there.”

Damilola, surprised, asked, “Would that be why?”

Toyosi replied, “Yes, you are blaming yourself too much. When you see me, you keep blaming yourself, and I, on the other hand, would like to think too. I don’t think I would be able to be in the same space with someone who is blaming herself; it makes me very sad.”

When Ebuka asked Damilola for her thoughts on Toyosi’s decision, she said, “I’m too stunned to speak.”

Sensing the tension, Ebuka encouraged them to embrace dialogue and express their feelings. He said, “Maybe you guys haven’t had this conversation yet, and there’s a lot of emotions bottled up. You haven’t expressed how you feel, so hearing that now, I think what needs to happen is both of you sitting down.”

Immediately, Toyosi was overwhelmed with emotions and began shedding tears, followed by Damilola.

Ebuka concluded, “If you’ve been friends for seven years, I think you should know how to communicate with each other. Sit down and say how you feel. I don’t think a week in Big Brother’s house should damage a friendship. You’re obviously hurt for different reasons.”
