The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 38 chairmanship and 177 councillorship seats in Ekiti state.
The Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) held elections in all of the state’s LGAs on Saturday.
According to NAN, the results of the election were presented at the EKSIEC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, by returning officers from the LGAs and local council development areas.
Cornelius Akintayo, chairman of the EKSIEC, praised the electorate for their peaceful conduct during the election on Sunday.
Akintayo also praised the state’s political parties for their sportsmanship, as well as media and security personnel for their professionalism.
The Action Alliance (AA), Action Democratic Congress (ADC), African Democratic Party (ADP), and All Progressives Congress (APC) were among the political parties that ran in the election, according to him.
The Labour Party (LP), the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and the Zenith Labour Party ZLP were among the others.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) had previously stated that they would not run in the council elections.
