The Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect.
The governor also cancelled the appointments of all senior special assistants (SSAs) and special assistants (SAs).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ebenezer Adeniyan, his chief press secretary, stated that all cabinet members must hand over to their respective permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers.
The statement reads:
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) are also relieved of their duties, with immediate effect.”
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State.”
The development comes nearly a month after Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as governor of the state following the death of the previous governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023, following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
