Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has revealed via its X handle that it has obtained the rights to broadcast all 52 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) events.
The broadcasting rights come after Africa’s biggest TV network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afro Sports, an Afro-centric sports media firm that broadcasts and distributes premium, live sports content.
The delayed 2023 AFCON will hold across cities in Ivory Coast from January 13th to February 11, 2024, but, the Nigerian soccer fans’ excitement was dampened when MultiChoice announced that DSTV and SuperSport Channel on GOtv will not broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.
The strategic partnership with Afro Sports will ensure that NTA will broadcast all 52 matches of the AFCON tournament.
