Nollywood blockbuster, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, is set to break new ground as it embarks on screenings in nine French-speaking countries starting this weekend.
Film One Entertainment, the movie’s distributor in Nigeria, shared this exciting news on Instagram today, January 19, 2024.
The movie is scheduled to be screened in a total of 13 regions across nine countries, including Cameroon, Togo, Burkina Faso, Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Guinea, Benin, and Gabon.
The selected cinemas for this distribution, starting on Friday, January 19, 2024, will be managed by Canal Olympia Showtimes Cinemas.
Produced by the acclaimed filmmaker Funke Akindele, the movie initially premiered in Nigeria in December before expanding its reach to Ghana and the United Kingdom. With this new development, A Tribe Called Judah will be showcased in a total of 12 countries.
A significant achievement for the film is its local gross, which, according to the Cinemas Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), has surged to an impressive ₦1,296,686,092 as of January 14, 2024.
This financial milestone solidifies A Tribe Called Judah’s position as the highest-grossing Nigerian movie to date.
The movie revolves around the narrative of five brothers – Jide Kene Achufusi, Timini Egbuson, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, and Olumide Oworu – who join forces to carry out a heist to save their mother, Jedidah Judah, portrayed by Funke Akindele.
