Reality TV personality, Chinonso Ibinabo Opara, popularly known as Kim Oprah, recently shared insights into her undergraduate life, revealing that she engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures to support herself.
During an interview on the ‘Tea With Tay’ podcast hosted by Taymesan, Kim Oprah disclosed that she once sold recharge cards, sachet water, and eggs while studying at the University of Port Harcourt.
Recalling her university days, Kim Oprah explained, “I went to the University of Port Harcourt, me and my sister, we used to sell recharge cards, pure water, eggs because around our side, there wasn’t a kiosk, so we became the kiosk.”
Opening up about her education, Kim Oprah expressed her initial desire to attend a private school but eventually followed her mother’s emphasis on “complete education.”
She and her sister attended private primary and secondary schools, while her brother went to public school and later enrolled in a private university, Covenant.
Speaking about her strong bond with her mother, Kim Oprah stated, “I’ve always been my mum’s handbag and we speak every day.” She revealed that her mother, despite the absence of her late father, provided unwavering support.
Additionally, Kim Oprah shared that her mother, a devoted fan of the Big Brother show, inspired her involvement. Although she hadn’t initially considered participating in the reality TV show, her manager suggested the idea while she was in Lagos, ultimately leading to her memorable stint on Big Brother Naija.
