The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully apprehended six suspects involved in an internet fraud syndicate.
Dele Oyewale, the acting head of media and publicity for the EFCC command, provided this information, assuring that due legal action would follow once the necessary inquiries were concluded.
He said, “Operatives of the EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters along Calabar-Itu road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, following intelligence. Some items recovered from them include phones and laptops. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
The suspects were identified as Udenze Benjamin, Godwin Atike, Emmanuel Francis, Adebe Oluwademilade, Anietie Brownson, and Sabastin Obioma. Various items, including phones and laptops, were confiscated from their possession during the operation.
The EFCC confirmed that after the investigations are completed, the suspects will face legal proceedings and be charged accordingly.
