The official portrait of the US President-elect, Donald Trump, and the Vice President-elect JD Vance has been unveiled.
Daniel Torok, the president-elect’s chief photographer, shared the shot with Vice-President-elect JD Vance on Thursday via an X post.
“We are entering the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA!” Torok captioned the dramatically different images of Trump and Vance.
As Vance smiled for the camera, Trump maintained a severe, unyielding expression.
The brilliantly lighted shot also differs from his 2017 portrait, in which he smiled warmly.
After being released from jail in 2023, the president-elect’s expression was very similar to his mugshot.
The 78-year-old appeared threatening in the mugshot, with furrowed brows and a tightened mouth.
He was the first former US president to have his mugshot taken.
The photo ignited a fundraising frenzy, appearing on t-shirts and mugs. It quickly became the physical representation of Trump as a politically motivated prosecuted victim.
Trump‘s transition staff stated that the official images “go hard.” The two will be sworn in on Monday.
