Popular Nollywood actor Halima Abubakar has issued a public apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries for defaming him.
Abubakar admitted to spreading false information about Suleman and acknowledged the pain she caused him through her social media actions.
The conflict between Halima Abubakar and Apostle Suleman began in 2022, when the actress fell seriously ill following their altercation.
During her illness, her family took to social media to accuse the clergyman of wrongdoing and urged him to stay away from her.
While many speculated that Abubakar was suffering from an autoimmune disease, she refuted these claims by sharing her medical report.
In her apology letter to Apostle Suleman, Abubakar expressed deep regret for tarnishing his reputation and hoped that her letter could help mend some of the damage.
The letter reads: “I admit that I made false allegations against you and deeply regret my actions and the harm I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministries.
“With this letter, I sincerely ask for forgiveness, knowing that my apology cannot undo the hurt, pain, and distress I caused. I ask that you find it in your heart to forgive me, as I was not in the right state of mind at the time.
“I am truly sorry for all the harm and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry.”
