Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Threads, announces that the new text-based social media platform has garnered 10 million sign-ups within seven hours of its launch.
“10 million sign-ups in seven hours,” the tech billionaire posted on his Threads page.
On July 6, Meta’s founder, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, launched Threads to compete with Elon Musk’s Twitter.
This move comes after Musk implemented a temporary limit on daily Twitter posts for users.
Zuckerberg swiftly responded to Twitter users’ complaints by introducing the text-based app that enables real-time conversations, similar to Twitter.
Threads offers features like liking, reposting, and controlling thread replies, mirroring Twitter’s functionalities.
Users can connect with others, share their ideas, opinions, and creativity, attracting influential figures like Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar.
