President Bola Tinubu has condemned the kidnappings of students in Kaduna state and Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Borno.
On Thursday, bandits attacked the Government Secondary School in Kuruga, Chikun LGA, Kaduna state, causing approximately 287 students to go missing.
In addition, students and staff from the community’s Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School were kidnapped.
On Tuesday, bandits kidnapped over 200 IDPs from their camp in Borno’s Ngala LGA.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu directed security and intelligence agencies to immediately rescue the victims and ensure that justice is served against the perpetrators of these heinous acts.
Tinubu said:
“I have received a briefing from security chiefs on the two incidents, and I am confident that the victims will be rescued. Nothing else is acceptable to me and the waiting family members of these abducted citizens. Justice will be decisively administered.”
The president expressed sympathy for the victims’ families and assured them that they would soon be reunited with their loved ones.
