President Bola Tinubu has removed Halima Shehu as CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) for alleged financial mismanagement.
According to Channels, the president appointed Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, to act in place of Shehu until the investigations are completed.
A senior presidential official confirmed the news to TheCable.
On October 18, 2023, the Senate confirmed Shehu’s appointment.
Shehu was the national coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme before her appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Between 2017 and 2022, she also worked for the Federal Ministry of humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
