Ivy Zenny, wife of Nigerian music star Paul Okoye from the P-Square duo, has voiced her frustration with social media trolls.
On August 18, 2024, Zenny took to her Instagram story to address the increasing trend of online trolling and negativity, expressing her strong dislike for such behavior.
She wrote, “I’ve encountered countless trolls, and honestly, nothing bothers me anymore, so this isn’t really about me. But some of these people, the moment they get a little attention, they change the narrative to, ‘It’s just cruise, it’s not that serious, I just wanted your attention. Love you, please help me/help my family.'”
Zenny specifically called out individuals who use trolling as a way to seek attention or financial aid from celebrities, labeling the act as “embarrassing.” She made it clear that, unlike Nigerian singer Chike, she won’t be giving money to any trolls.
“I wish you understood how embarrassing it is to post hate comments for fun, recognition, or money. Lol, not everyone has Chike’s heart. They’re out here playing because of 1 million, but you won’t even see 1 kobo. Save yourself the embarrassment, please 100% of the time, you really do look stupid on here,” she added.
Her post sparked reactions from Instagram users, with many agreeing with her stance.
